Booking Conditions

Our adventures take you to remote parts of developing countries, where the physical and social conditions can be very unfamiliar and unpredictable. Therefore, all our proposed routes and itineraries must be seen as Statements of Intent only. If you can accept this unpredictability as part of the adventure experience you are seeking, then the Himalaya is DEFINITELY for you! If not, then perhaps you should consider a more structured holiday in a more developed part of the world. So, please read the following conditions very carefully and thoroughly. We accept your online booking confirmation as legal confirmation of your understanding and acceptance of all the conditions contained herein.

After you have read and accepted the booking conditions, please complete the booking form and return it to Wild Heights. Upon receipt of your booking form and deposit, your confirmation invoice will be sent to you. In addition, we will also send you a detailed and comprehensive Trip Notes and PreDeparture information pack, complete with destination information comprising itinerary for your trip preparation, visas, passport, clothing and equipment advice, etc.

The following booking conditions apply to all trips operated by Wild Heights:

Health
Good health and physical fitness are required on all trips. We recommend a physical examination for all participants on extended treks. If you suffer from severe muscular, chest, heart, asthmatic or bronchial disorders, or have high blood pressure, you are strongly advised against coming.

Insurance
We strongly suggest that the participant be protected by insurance that covers cancellation, accidents, health, emergency evacuation, and loss, theft of or damage to baggage and personal effects. Personal Travel Insurance is not included in the tour price.

All costs for emergency or air/helicopter evacuation must be paid in cash in Kathmandu unless an insurance company has agreed to pay the costs on your behalf.

Payment
To confirm your reservation, we require a non-refundable US$100 as advance deposit per person at least 15 days before the starting date of the trip. If the balance is not paid by the due date, we will regard the booking as cancelled. Though we do not require it, we would appreciate payment in full before you arrive in Kathmandu.

You may send the $100 deposit via wire transfer to Nepal. You can make the final payment in cash or through credit card once you arrive in Kathmandu. Please note that payment by credit card incurs an additional service charge. To make a wire transfer, please contact us for more information.

Delays and Itinerary Changes
The participant specifically agrees that Wild Heights shall not be held responsible for any delays or changes in itineraries caused by an act, omission or other circumstances beyond our control; the participant understands that such situations may occur, and that we will not be able to inform the participant of each possible problem.

The itinerary, highlights and excursions as set out in the itinerary will be adhered to as far as possible, but these are to be used as a guide only. The company or trek leader and staff may make omissions or alterations to the itinerary, highlights, and excursions as they deem necessary. Under such provisions, the participant shall not be entitled to recover any sum paid by him or her for unused hotel accommodation, air tickets, etc unless the whole tour is cancelled by the company before departure.

Walk Out and Refunds
There will be no refunds if a participant leaves a trip for any reason whatsoever, either voluntarily or involuntarily, after it has begun. We will make no refunds for any meals, accommodation or services not used.

If you are unable to continue with the planned itinerary but are not at any risk, you will be offered alternatives such as a shorter route or early return to Kathmandu. The costs of this will be small, but must be met by yourself and then later claimed on your insurance if applicable.

Should you voluntarily decide to alter your travel arrangements after the commencement of your trip, Wild Heights will not be responsible for any additional charges involved. Our staff will assist you if possible but you are responsible for organising these arrangements yourself.  

Responsibility
We shall not be liable for any loss or damage to baggage or personal possessions, or any consequential losses resulting therefrom. If a participant is injured or becomes ill, all evacuation and hospital expenses, doctors’ fees and repatriation costs are the passenger’s responsibility, and Wild Heights shall not be liable for any refund of the tour fare.

While your trek leader will assist you with options available in a given location please note that any optional activities you undertake are not part of your Wild Heights itinerary, and we make no representations about the safety of the activity or the standard of the operators running them. Please use your own good judgment when selecting an activity in your free time.

Price Changes
The prices quoted by Wild Heights are based on airfares, exchange rates and costs in effect on the date shown. We reserve the right to alter our prices if these rates change substantially. We may also apply surcharges in the event of significant changes in domestic airfare, fuel prices, government regulations and taxes. We cannot make refunds to passengers who are adversely affected by changes in exchange rates.

Assumption of Risk
The participant understands that during the course of the trip, certain risks and dangers may occur, including, but not limited to, the hazards of traveling in mountainous terrain, accident or illness in remote places without medical facilities, and the forces of nature. The participant agrees to assume all risks associated with the journey, and agrees that no liability will be attached to the company, or to any member of the tour group in respect to death, personal injury, illness or delay of passenger, or for any loss or damage to the property of the passenger during the course of the trip, howsoever caused.
